Adelphia Sold To Time Warner and Comcast
In July of 2006 Time Warner Cable and Comcast purchased most of Adelphia Cable's assets for approximately $17 billion. Through that acquisition Time Warner acquired about 3 million new cusoomers and Comcast gained about 1.5 million new subscribers. At the time of the Adelphia acquisition Time Warner and Comcast agreed to exchange some of their own subscribers to consolidate key regions. South Florida was one of the areas affected by this exchange.
