Florida Everglades National Park
More then 2000 acres of the Florida Everglades have been
designated as Everglades National Park. This is a picture
of the park's Royal Palms Visitor Center.

A 2357 square mile park that was authorized in
1934 and finally established in 1947. The park
was designatedan International Biosphere Reserve
in 1976. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage
Site in 1979, as a Wetland of International Importance
in 1987, and it was placed on the List of World
Heritage Sites in Danger in 1993.
