Shopping in Aventura
South Florida
One of the largest shopping malls in Florida is located in Aventura
and the city also has a shopping center founded in the 1950's that
today features big box stores such as Wal-Mart and Office Depot.
Aventura Mall
This huge shopping mall is located north of Miami
in the City of Aventura and it is one of the largest
shopping centers in Florida. It has more then 2.3
million square feet of retail space on three floors
and more then 250 shops and restaurants. Its anchor
stores are Bloomingdale's, Macy's, JCPenney, and Sears
and it has a 24-screen AMC theater complex. The
Aventura Mall first opened in 1983 and a major expansion
was completed in 1998. The Aventura Mall is located at
19501 Biscayne Boulevard, Aventura, Florida. For

Mall at 163rd Street
This shopping mall was very popular when it
first opened as an open-air shopping
center in 1956. In 1983 it became
an enclosed mall but it lost much of its business
to the Aventura Mall, which opened that same year.
Changes since 2004 have revitalized
this mall including replacing about
30% of the mall with larger stores
including a Wal-Mart Supercenter, an
Office Depot, and a Ross Dress for Less.
