Miami Metro Zoo
The Miami Zoo has more then 900 animals, 80 exhibits, and it covers about 740 acres of land. A walk on the entire path through the zoo covers approximately three miles. The first first Miami zoo was called the Crandon Park Zoo and it was located on Key Biscayne. That zoo was destroyed by a hurricane in 1965 and the current Miami MetroZoo opened at its current location in 1981. The zoo is in an unincorporated area of Miami-Dade county southwest of the city of Miami and west of Palmetto Bay Village.

Monkey Jungle
This 30 acre wildlife park was established in 1933 to study endangered monkeys in a semi-natural habitat. It is now a popular tourist attraction withmore then 400 primates and 30 species. Visitors walk through a series of caged tunnels and the monkeys run loose outside the tunnels. Located at 14805 Southwest 216th Street in Miami.

Parrot Jungle Island
This animal park was founded in 1936 as an attraction called "Parrot Jungle" and at that time it was located in the village of Pinecrest.The park at the original location is now called Pinecrest Gardens. In 2003 the Parrot Jungle attraction was moved from Pinecrest to Watson Island, between the downtown Miami and Miami Beach. Its name was changed to "Parrot Jungle Island" when it moved to its new location.
